MALI <3 Q-TIP/LET’S RIDE

You can always rely on Q-Tip to clean the crap rap out of our ears. I spent a few hours with music producer, Mali at her dad’s crib to check out their incredible record collection & peep her skills on the 1n’s & 2’s.

So this is your favourite song huh?
Was a tough decision but the reaction this tune gets from me, no other tune does that to me in a club. I think the song chose me I didn’t choose it haha.

Dilla’s beat or ‘Tip’s verse?
Dilla’s beat.

I think Q-Tip and the gang would be pretty impressed with that tattoo. Why did you choose it?
I wanted a tattoo that summed up me and my love for music. I make beats, Hip-Hop is my first love (rhymes), these are core elements of my life and Tribe are my favourite group.

Let’s Ride to… ?
Southbank.

Silverprint Exhibition

I am delighted to announce that I will be showing my Silver Gelatin print in the establishment Silverprint from February 26th to April 16th.

This print is very dear to my heart and is part of a personal project of mine called Independent. This image of Budapest, was shot using 35mm film, developed and enlarged by Klaus Kalde then mounted and framed by Peter’s Frames in Ashford, Surrey.

Film is a big part of my life and something that I came across after using digital cameras. I always felt like there was more work to be done in photography which is why I returned to traditional methods.

Buying my first film camera paved the way to learning more about film photography and the darkroom. I now mentor and advise others in getting started with film photography. I am currently writing a book helping others with this topic which will include information on Darkrooms and where to buy film and Photographic materials.

The rest of my digital and film photographs can be viewed here
